This one was unusual....

$400 NL FR, full 9 hands at the table.

UTG limps, 1 fold, UTG+2 limps, MP raises to $25, 3 folds, SB raises to $69, 2 folds, UTG+2 shoves for a total of $98, MP raises to a total of $150ish, SB shoves, MP calls his last $140ish.

Pot 1 = $300.69
Pot 2 = $387.01
Total pot = $ 687.70

SB has AK
UTG+2 has KJ
MP has QT

AK holds up.

$200 NL isn't that big, but this was a stunner. Bodog.

Folds to CO who is short with about $75 and raises to $6. BB calls.

Flop [8c][3c][Td]. BB bets $8, CO shoves, BB calls ... and flips [5d][2d].

I shit you not.

Just data-mining some big games tonight. Went through and looked some of the big hands. Looks like people who overplayed KQ against drmachine7 paid for it.

Are these plays as bad as they seem?

Oh, and the "fold to the check/minimum raise" theory holds at 5/10 too at least against this guy.

You got check/minraised on the flop then checked to again on the turn, you have TPGK and you bet and call a check/shove? Ever heard of pot control?

These look like donk plays to me. I don't know, maybe there's some metagame, or some thinking on higher levels, or something. Somebody tell me different?

200NL

Villain is kinda bad, but I NEVER thought he was this stupid. Previous history: 2hrs earlier he opened A7o UTG, called my btn 3b, ch/called 2nd pr, and called a river bet after a checked turn (I had TT, turn was a Q).

I've had aces 11 times and have only won the blinds (so ghey), I get them in CO, open, villain in sb makes a small 3b, I 4b, he calls. Flop 862r, he ch/calls. Turn Q, he shoves for <2/3pot, I snap...his Q2s wins.

Q2s?!?!!!

Nice call on the flop with bottom pair sir.

On hand 2 we have TPGK and it's HU and we have 100bbs approximately and there are no obvious straights or flushes out there. We basically flopped the nuts. I would find it difficult to get away from the hand without some sort of read.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

This is a true story.......

I was playing at a Ladbrokes $1/$2 10 Handed table and had built up a stack of $537.

I am big blind and I get dealt 9s 6s.

Everyone folds except the player on the button (who has a stack of $598) he min raises to $4.

Small blind folds.

Because I didnt want to give up my blind I decided to call the $2 raise thinking that if the flop favours me im going to get paid off as I had built up a creditable image at the table and the players had seen that I wasnt playing weak hands.

Flop comes 6h , 9c , 2s ,

The button bets $8 - the pot

I instanlty push all-in with my remaining $533 thinking that he more than likely has an over-pair.

The button thinks about it for a couple of seconds before deciding to call.

the turn is 10c

the river is 5h

showdown.... I have 2pair 9's and 6's the button player turns over Ah 9h

I win the pot of over $1,000 8-)

OK the $100 tables aren't exactly big money but this guy tonight was probably the worst player I have ever seen, at any level.

All at the same full ring table, over a period of about 90 minutes:

He minimum raised, 4-bet, and called a 5-bet shove preflop, showing K7s.

He limp/called preflop and check/called the flop with [Tc][5c] on a board of [Js][8c][2d]. He then checked the turn and river and lost to an unimproved A3. (He actually limp/called preflop and check/called the flop with NPND at least 5 separate times. One of those times of course he had K9 and caught a river K to beat my AQ on a Q727K board.)

He bet 2x and called a repop to 8x preflop, check/called 3/4 pot on a board of [Jh][6h][3h], check/called 3/4 pot again on a [Qs] turn, and check/called the rest of his stack on a [Qd] river with [Kc][5d]. That was against me, I had AQ no heart.

He raised 10x preflop utg with QJ, checked the flop and turn heads up out of position, then minimum bet the river having whiffed and lost to someone with 22 who would have had to fold to any reasonable bet at all on a KTxxx board.

Absolutely stunning stuff. Of course he won his fair share of pots, too, including catching a ludicrous gutshot to bust KK. But that only meant he had more money to give back to all of us.

Good times.
