I watched the 2 hour repeat of the Lost finale last night. I thought it was the season premiere which is tonight and I felt a little bit cheated, but that's ok.
But still bothering me after 9 months and seeing it again:
Why the hell wouldn't Charlie just step outside and close the door? He was done.

I considered this, but even considering that he couldn't lock the door from the outside, wouldn't they still be able to swim out of there before the larger room filled up? Worth a shot at least? And didn't Desmond have scuba gear too?
